About the event

While the Heartland Ranch Nature Preserve supports many fauna species, it also supports a variety of flora species. Such as the rare and state-endemic Colorado Green Gentian (Frasera coloradensis). This is just one of the many unique plant species that you might encounter on this walk to see a different side of the prairie, led by SPLT Conservation Director and resident botany expert Kieran Andreoni.

Habitat: Prairie Grasslands

Possible species:

  • Colorado Green Gentian (Frasera coloradensis)

  • Dotted Blazing Star (Liatris punctata)

  • James' Prairie Clover (Dale jamesii)
